Kärcher scrubber targets dust, safety challenges in logistics facilities

Maintaining clean and safe warehouse environments remains an ongoing challenge across transport, warehousing and logistics operations, particularly in high-traffic facilities where dust, pallet debris and floor contamination can quickly accumulate.

According to Nathan Briggs, head of product Oceania at Kärcher, poor floor conditions can impact both operational efficiency and workplace safety.

“Dust accumulation on floors, inventory and machinery can create health and safety risks, contribute to contamination issues and affect the presentation of a facility,” says Briggs.

Kärcher has developed its B 260 RI Bp ride-on scrubber dryer for large-scale industrial and logistics environments where high-performance floor cleaning and reduced downtime are priorities.

The machine is designed to remove compacted grime, dust and oil residues from warehouse and production floors, while maintaining productivity across large facilities.

“With large logistics and warehousing operations, consistency is one of the biggest challenges. Fatigue, time pressure and staff changes can all affect cleaning quality,” says Briggs.

The B 260 RI Bp features a 260-litre freshwater tank with automatic fill capability and an automatic detergent dosing system designed to support controlled chemical use and efficient cleaning performance. A steering angle sensor automatically reduces speed while turning, while the machine is capable of cleaning speeds up to 10 km/h.

According to Briggs, floor drying performance is also important within busy warehouse environments where forklifts, pedestrians and vehicles are operating continuously.

“The dual turbine suction system and high-quality squeegee leave floors exceptionally dry, meaning surfaces are ready to walk or drive on immediately after cleaning,” he says.

The machine also incorporates Kärcher Intelligent Key (KIK) user management technology, allowing settings and access to be configured for individual operators. Kärcher says the system is designed to support operational control and simplify fleet management across larger facilities.

Briggs says energy efficiency and servicing access were also key considerations in the machine’s development.

“The eco-efficiency mode reduces power consumption while extending battery run time, helping facilities clean large areas with less downtime,” he says.

Kärcher says the B 260 RI Bp is suited to warehouses, logistics hubs and production environments seeking to improve floor presentation, reduce dust and maintain more consistent cleaning standards across large operational sites.
