New Zealand material handling supplier Genex Material Handling has partnered with Gather AI to bring what the companies describe as ‘physical AI’ technology to intralogistics operations across New Zealand and Australia.
Gather AI has developed an AI-driven warehouse intelligence platform designed to provide continuous visibility across inventory and warehouse activity. Rather than relying solely on periodic stock counts or warehouse management system records, the platform uses computer vision, drones and AI-powered data capture to monitor product movements and facility activity in near real time.
The company positions its platform, Gather AI Prana, as a physical AI system because it is trained on data captured within real warehouse environments. According to Gather AI, the technology is designed to help operators reduce inventory inaccuracies, improve labour allocation and identify operational bottlenecks earlier.
Shane Smith, managing director of Genex Material Handling, says the partnership reflects growing demand for better visibility within warehousing and logistics environments.
“Gather AI Prana gives our customers ground truth on every product and every movement, dock to dock. Teams get data they can trust without changing how they work,” says Smith.
Gather AI says its platform integrates with existing warehouse management and enterprise systems without requiring major infrastructure changes. The company reports that customers using the technology have achieved inventory accuracy levels above 99%, while reducing manual counting requirements and improving productivity.
Industry interest in physical AI technologies has increased as logistics operators look for more accurate visibility across increasingly complex warehouse and distribution environments. Gather AI recently raised US$40 million in Series B funding to support global expansion of the platform across logistics and manufacturing sectors.
Through the partnership, Genex will provide local consultation, integration and ongoing support for organisations implementing the technology across warehouse and intralogistics environments.
