Dematic showcases automation technologies at CeMAT Australia
Dematic has showcased its latest automation technologies, software and warehouse products at CeMAT Australia 2026, highlighting the company’s developments across supply chain automation, storage, connected workforce technologies and AI.
As the event’s major sponsor, Dematic demonstrated technologies for the retail, grocery, manufacturing, third-party logistics and distribution sectors, with a focus on improving productivity, maximising capacity and building more resilient operations.
One of the highlights was the Australian debut of the Dematic Multishuttle FD shuttle system, demonstrated locally for the first time. Dematic says the live demonstration attracted strong interest from businesses looking for scalable, high-density storage solutions that can expand as operational requirements grow.
David Rubie, ANZ sales director, integrated systems and mobile automation at Dematic, says many organisations are looking for practical ways to get more out of their existing warehouse operations.

Alongside the Dematic Multishuttle FD shuttle system, the company demonstrated automated guided vehicles (AGVs), AutoStore, 4-way pallet shuttle solutions, connected workforce technologies featuring voice and vision picking demonstrations, lifecycle services capabilities, and Australian-made Colby storage products.
Rubie also presented ‘Optimising manual warehouses with automation’, discussing how pallet shuttles, AGVs and the Dematic Multishuttle FD shuttle system are helping organisations maximise capacity, improve operational performance and build greater resilience within existing facilities.

Dematic also presented on AI and connected workforce technologies. During the presentation ‘AI is here: Optimising frontline workers’, Dematic’s ANZ director of connected workforce solutions and storage equipment, Lee Koutsos, and Zebra Technologies sales engineering manager ANZ, Daniel Park, discussed AI-powered technologies designed to place enhanced intelligence into the hands of frontline workers, improving productivity, operational efficiency and warehouse control.
