Swisslog has repositioned its monorail system under the new name FastMove, reflecting an enhanced focus on performance, flexibility and equipment lifecycle for long-distance pallet transport.
“FastMove represents the next step in the evolution of monorail technology at Swisslog,” says Giovanni Franco, product manager, pallet transportation at Swisslog. “By combining high performance with modular scalability and cost efficiency, we provide our customers with a future-ready solution that supports growth, modernisation and long-term operational excellence.”
Building on more than 40 years of Swisslog monorail technology, FastMove is a high-capacity electrified monorail system designed to transport palletised goods efficiently across complex warehouse environments. It enables companies to optimise material flow over long distances while maintaining high throughput and gentle handling of goods.
The system offers transport speeds of up to 2m/s and capacities exceeding 600 pallets per hour, helping operators manage higher throughput and peak demand. Compared with conventional conveyor-based pallet transport systems, Swisslog says FastMove offers a more favourable cost position for long-distance, high-throughput applications by reducing system components, installation costs and operating costs while improving space utilisation.
FastMove has been designed with flexibility and scalability in mind. Its modular track design supports complex warehouse layouts and can be adapted as operational requirements change, while throughput can be increased by adjusting the number of vehicles operating within the system. This enables customers to expand capacity progressively as business needs grow.
Swisslog says FastMove is equally suited to modernisation projects. Upgrade packages allow existing systems to improve performance and extend service life without requiring complete replacement. Current upgrades focus on controls and software, with mechatronic components upgraded where required to protect existing investments while keeping installations current and compliant.
The next product release, expected by the end of 2026, is being developed to meet the requirements of the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and machinery regulations.
Designed for demanding warehouse environments, FastMove operates in temperatures from -30°C to 50°C and handles loads of up to 1,500kg, or 3,000kg in twin-load configurations. The system is suited to food and beverage, consumer goods and retail applications.
FastMove also integrates with Swisslog’s SynQ software platform, enabling intelligent material flow control and synchronisation between automated and manual processes through connected, data-driven warehouse operations.
