Aurora ‘revolutionises pallet wrapping to lift performance’ and slashes costs

Aurora Process Solutions has launched its latest range of pallet wrapping systems, aimed at significantly reducing costs for customers, in a move that the company says will revolutionise pallet wrapping to lift performances.

Aurora says its new wrapping systems are designed to meet the diverse load containment needs of its clients. The company prioritises the automation and optimisation of packaging processes, increasing both efficiency and safety across multiple industries.

“Aurora provides comprehensive services from design and installation to continuous support, maintaining a close relationship with its clients throughout the process,” says Braden Goddin, sales and marketing manager at Aurora.

This new range covers both semi and fully automatic wrapping systems and features the full spectrum of wrapping technology from turntable, rotary arm, ring, robotic, horizontal, and agv/amr systems.

“We specialise not only in distributing these advanced systems but also in integrating them into existing packaging lines. We offer both semi-automated and fully automated solutions, along with full-service support, including automation, controls, installation, commissioning, and training,” says Goddin.

Driving down costs

One of the key features of Aurora’s new pallet wrapping systems is their ability to dramatically lower the cost per wrap. Historically, explains Goddin, pallet wrapping solutions were implemented with little consideration for optimising film usage.

“Aurora’s latest offerings, however, incorporate intelligent software and mechanical components that reduce film waste while maintaining robust load containment.”

For medium to large-scale stretch wrap users, this can lead to substantial cost savings.

“There’s a big difference between selecting a system based on price alone and choosing one with the expertise to optimise load containment, film usage, and overall efficiency.”

Design innovation has been a crucial element in reducing material costs. These machines offer up to 400% pre-stretch, enabling each roll of wrap to cover more pallets than conventional methods. This not only saves on material costs but also reduces the environmental impact of plastic usage.

Sustainability in focus

In a bid to address global concerns about sustainability, Aurora has partnered with Robopac to introduce systems that can wrap pallets using engineered paper, offering a more eco-friendly alternative to polyethylene. The innovative paper wrapping can provide superior stretchability and strength, increasing pallet stability by up to 40% in certain applications.

“This shift to paper wrapping brings many advantages. Larger rolls reduce the frequency of roll changes, enhancing automation. Additionally, the ability to print on the paper opens up marketing opportunities while reducing the need for additional labels,” says Goddin.

The recyclable nature of paper wrapping presents a significant step toward reducing carbon footprints, with studies indicating it can lower carbon emissions by up to 62%.

Versatile and high-capacity solutions

Aurora’s new range of pallet wrapping systems is not only cost-effective and sustainable, but it also offers versatile solutions. From semi-automatic machines for smaller operations to fully automated systems designed for heavy-duty, low-temperature, or even corrosive environments, there is a solution to fit every need.

“A variety of models are available, including turntables, rotary arm wrappers, and ring wrappers.

“Our top-end Genesis model can wrap up to 160 pallets per hour, far exceeding the industry standard of 30 pallets.”

This leap in efficiency is largely thanks to Robopac’s advanced wrapping technology, which is gaining traction in Australasia.

“We are excited to introduce these innovations, as they can rotate the film rather than the pallet itself, making them ideal for unstable or lightweight loads,” says Goddin.

Comprehensive support and integration

Aurora goes beyond simply supplying pallet wrapping machines. The company ensures a seamless integration of these systems into existing packaging lines, offering automation, installation, and continuous support to maintain the equipment’s peak performance.

“Our service doesn’t stop at installation,” Goddin adds. “We provide staff training, optimise settings, and monitor film consumption to ensure sustained efficiency. Particularly for rural clients, our ongoing support is key to long-term success.”

By combining cost-efficiency, sustainability, and cutting-edge technology, Aurora “continues to lead the packaging industry, helping businesses reduce environmental impact while improving profitability”.
